Backup & Restore – Requirements
Fully qualified domain name (FQDN)
The institute server must have a DNS entry.
Write an e-mail to supportluis.uni-hannover.de (Subject: DNS entry). Do not forget to include the hostname, institute name and IP address of the machine.
Bacula client uses ports 9101 (outbound) and 9102 (inbound) to communicate with the Bacula Director (bacula-dir: 18.104.22.168) , and 9103 (outbound) to send data to the Storage Deamon (bacula-sd1: 22.214.171.124).
Make sure that these ports are open. If the institute is participating in LUIS net-security, this (additional) firewall needs to open the ports as well. Write an e-mail to securityluis.uni-hannover.de (Subject: Netzschutz - free ports for Bacula backup). Do not forget to include the hostname, institute name and IP address of the machine.
