Introduction to Parallel Programming with MPI and OpenMP
On clusters and distributed memory architectures, parallel programming with the Message Passing Interface (MPI) is the dominating programming model. OpenMP is a standard method for shared memory parallelization on multi-core, shared memory platforms.
This course gives an introduction to MPI and OpenMP. Hands-on sessions are included on all days.
Prerequisities are programming skills in C/C++ and/or Fortran and working under Linux.
The course language is English.
A detailed program will be given at the beginning of the course. All participants will get handouts.
Participants need a VPN account for LUH, s. https://www.luis.uni-hannover.de/de/services/kommunikation/netz/angebote-im-service-netz/vpn-dienst/ .
This course is based on the MPI/OpenMP course originally developed by Rolf Rabenseifner from the High-Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS) and is organized in cooperation with HLRS.
Max 20 attendees.
