Service description

The conference management service is offered on the base of the application Indico. The service includes both the provision of access for authorised LUH employees and support for individual users in creating and managing a conference.

Indico is hosted as a separate installation on an internal LUIS server. In the first stage of expansion it offers the following functions for the management of the entire conference life cycle.

  1.  Customisable conference web portal
  2. All conferences are arranged in a tree-like structure. Each of these categories can contain either other categories or the actual events
  3. Creating the programme with themes, titles and tracks
  4. Creation of a conference website
  5. Flexible creation of a registration form
  6. Export option for all registration data
  7. Submission and review of conference abstracts with flexible definition of the review process and invitation of reviewers and judges
  8. Submission and review of conference papers with flexible definition of the review process and invitation of reviewers and judges
  9. Filing of presentation slides, posters and papers submitted by authors
  10. Creation of surveys
  11. Automatic notifications, for example automatic reminders to all participants of a conference
  12. Creation and printing of participant certificates and name badges from the participant list
  13. Creating copies of conferences for archiving or reuse in follow-up conferences
  14. Multilingual interface, but currently only English, French and Spanish
