First steps
The Projektablage consists of a bundle of IT services (e.g. Seafile, OpenProject, etc.). To use one of these IT services, you must first apply for a project space at the Projektablage. In your project space, you can then use the desired IT services and invite both LUH-internal and -external persons to collaborate.
Key facts
-
General information
In order to work with the various IT-services of the Projektablage, a project space must be created first. Each project space is assigned to an LUH institution and requires a person responsible for the project who has administrative rights for the project space and can therefore activate the individual it-services for the project space as well as manage its users.
Users are identified via e-mail addresses. There is only one password per user account, which is valid for all projects spaces and the involved IT-services. Persons external to LUH can be included in project spaces. The legal owner of the data stored in the IT-services of a project space is always the respective LUH institution. Accordingly, project storage is intended for official data; the storage of private data is not permitted.
Any LUH employee may use as many project spaces as they wish at the Projektablage. For each of these project spaces, the IT services used and the staff involved can be specified individually.
Project spaces are isolated and invisible to the outside world. This means that only the respective project space members can access the content.
Project spaces are time limited, by default to one year. After expiry, all access to the project space is automatically deactivated (both to the administration and the involved it-services). The expiry date can be changed at any time by an administrator of a project space (but the expiry date cannot be set more than of 15 months into the future). In principle, therefore, a project space can continue indefinitely – provided that the expiry date is regularly reset. An automatic e-mail notification informs the administrators of a project space that the expiration date gets close.
The quota of a project (i.e. the available storage space in the individual IT-services) is 100GB.

Requesting a project space
Only employees of the LUH can request project spaces in the Projektablage for their LUH-institution. The following information is required for requesting a project space:
- the name and e-mail address of the person responsible for the project space (LUH employee)
- the requestor's LUH institution
- the proposed name for the project space
The project space name may consist of lowercase letters, numbers, hyphens and underscores. In addition, the name must always be preceded by the abbreviated name of the involved LUH institution. For technical reasons, the overall length of a project space name (including the prefix) must not exceed 42 characters .
For example, ‘luis-test-projekt’ is a valid name for a project that is assigned to the LUIS.
Requests for project spaces sent by e-mail are processed by the LUIS support team.

Administration
An overview of your own project spaces can be found on the administration page. Every user of the Projekablage can log in there and see which users and services are set for a particular project space. If you have administrative permissions for a project space, you can also edit the settings. The use of the individual administration functions is described in detail on this page.
