Conference categories and permissions

The following categories and associated permissions are implemented on the Indico main page:

  1. For each faculty, a category is created in access mode "protected".
  2. The following categories should be available on the main page of Indico:
    Fakultät für Architektur und Landschaft
    Fakultät für Bauingenieurwesen und Geodäsie
    Fakultät für Elektrotechnik und Informatik
    Fakultät für Maschinenbau
    Fakultät für Mathematik und Physik
    Naturwissenschaftliche Fakultät
    Juristische Fakultät
    Philosophische Fakultät
    Wirtschaftswissenschaftliche Fakultät
    QUEST Leibniz Forschungsschule
    Leibniz School of Education
    Zentrale Einrichtungen
    Präsidium und Verwaltung
  3. A separate category can also be created for other institutions on request.
  4. The access mode of these categories is "protected", i.e. only certain authorised persons can create conferences or other subcategories under this category.
  5. From the users' point of view, the following roles for category management and conference management have been realised:
    a. Category Administration
    a.1 Creates further subcategories if necessary
    a.2 Gives registered Indico users the right to create and manage a conference in this category
    b. Conference Manager
    b.1 Creates a conference with all desired functions
    b.2 Management of registrations, call for abstracts, call for papers etc.
    b.3 Is responsible for the data protection aspects of the conference, i.e. for the preparation of a dedicated process description, for the placement of the privacy statements on the relevant conference web pages and for the deletion of personal data after the end of the conference.
  6. Any employee of LUH can have access to the system with the role "category administration" for a specific category. Access is granted by LUIS upon request from the FIO of the Faculty.
  7. The conference managers define and assign the actual roles for the conference, e.g. "reviewer", " judge" etc.
  8. For testing purposes a category "Test" is provided on the main page. It has the access mode "public".
  9. The test category can be used by all registered LUH employees.
  10. The conferences created under the test category will be automatically deleted one month after they are created.

On the Indico main page a document regarding the following topics is integrated:

  1. Terms of use for Indico
  2. Necessary data protection measures
    a. Privacy statement for registrations, Call for Abstracts and Call for Papers
    b. Template for dedicated process descriptions
